Jerzy Różycki

(24 July 1909 – 9 January 1942) The youngest of the three cryptologists. At the Poznań University he was granted two master’s degree titles (in Philosophy within the scope of Mathematics and Geographical Science). Jerzy Różycki also attended cryptology courses conducted by workers of the Cipher Bureau. After the outbreak of the 2nd World War, just as other workers of the Cipher Bureau, he was evacuated to France. Thanks to his organisational skills he was assigned to organise in Algeria a branch of the military intelligence service. He died in a crash of the “Lamoriciere” ship while coming to France from Algeria.
